Why should I work with a Registered Dietitian?

Registered Dietitians are the only healthcare professionals trained and licensed to assess, diagnose, and treat nutrition-related health conditions using medical nutrition therapy (MNT). Registered Dietitians are also held to a strict code of ethics to ensure a reliable, evidence-based approach to nutrition therapy.

What makes Mindful Nutrition Counseling unique?

I provide an individualized approach to long-term health and wellness through a convenient, telehealth platform. I break down science heavy material into an easy-to-digest format and teach you how to apply concepts into everyday practice.

What populations do you work with?

I specialize in, general wellness, Diabetes management, insulin resistance, cardiovascular disease, PCOS, and women's health.

How many sessions are needed?

Changing your lifestyle and habits takes time!

I recommend starting with a minimum of six 60-minute sessions. At our sixth session, we will set a plan for weekly, bi-monthly, monthly, or quarterly check-ins to help you stay on track!

How much does a counseling session cost?

The cash price is $115/session.

Can I use my insurance benefits?

Currently, I am in-network with Aetna, BCBS TX, Cigna, Humana, and UnitedHealthcare.

When you book a consultation through my website, I will send over an insurance form to fill out.

Be sure to sign up for my newsletter to be notified once I am able to accept additional insurance carriers!

Does my insurance plan cover nutrition counseling?

To find out if your insurance plan covers nutrition counseling, you can call the number for member services on the back of your card. Ask the representative these questions:

1. Do I have coverage for nutrition counseling on my current insurance policy?
2. Is my diagnosis covered? (You can get this diagnosis from your doctor).
3. How many covered visits do I have per calendar year?
4. Do I have a co-pay or deductible for nutrition counseling?

Do I need a referral?

The need for a referral depends on your insurance plan. However, I recommend reaching out to your physician for a referral.

By partnering with your primary care physician, I can provide more comprehensive medical care.

What is your payment policy?

After our sessions, I will send you an invoice to be paid. I accept all major credit cards and you can pay online through a secure portal.
